Summary of Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre
If you love juicy secrets, deadly jealousy and unexpected twists, Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre will be right up your alley. Set in the upscale, luxurious suburb of Atherton, this thriller follows Cat Winthorpe, a woman living what appears to be the perfect life. Cat has it all—successful, charming husband, stunning home and the admiration of everyone around her. But perfection is often a façade and that’s about to be shattered by Neena Ryder, the ambitious new neighbor with her sights set on Cat’s life. And I don’t just mean she wants the house, the wardrobe or the lifestyle—Neena wants the husband, too.
Neena works as a life coach and is a true master of manipulating people. She’s got a rock-solid marriage of her own, but she’s decided that’s not enough. Driven by jealousy and ambition, she starts worming her way into Cat’s life, slowly nudging her out of her own picture-perfect world. As Cat starts to suspect Neena’s intentions, a deadly game of cat-and-mouse begins. A game where only one woman can come out on top. With layers of deception and rivalry, Every Last Secret takes us deep into the dark side of ambition, betrayal and secrets that shouldn’t see the light of day.
Review of Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre
Where to begin with Every Last Secret? This book gave me everything I didn’t know I needed: a fast-paced thriller, deliciously complex characters and a plot that just kept surprising me. I’m not sure if I was rooting for Cat, hating Neena or loving both of their ruthless antics. Honestly, probably all of the above!
Cat and Neena are brilliant as two women who refuse to be outdone. I loved that Torre created two such unapologetically ambitious characters who would rather risk it all than lose control. Cat, with her pristine, almost Stepford-like life, hides a fierce core. As much as I sometimes wanted to yell at her for being oblivious, I respected her fire and determination to protect what’s hers. And Neena? She’s the kind of villain I secretly love to hate. She’s intelligent, calculating and so unapologetically bold that you almost want her schemes to succeed. Almost.
As you dive deeper into their toxic rivalry, you start to realize that neither Cat nor Neena is quite as simple as they seem. Torre does an amazing job keeping readers on their toes, making us question the motives of everyone involved. The suspense is thick and it’s impossible not to fly through the pages to see what each character will do next. With each twist, the stakes only get higher. By the time I was halfway through, I was frantically reading. Just dying to know how it would all end. And that ending? It did not disappoint.

A.R. Torre is no stranger to the world of dark thrillers. Many readers might know her from the Deanna Madden series, starting with The Girl in 6E. Final Thoughts on Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre
Every Last Secret is the kind of thriller that’s perfect for fans of Big Little Lies or The Last Mrs. Parrish. It’s suspenseful, darkly funny and filled with those wicked little moments that make you smirk and cringe at the same time. The dynamic between Cat and Neena is pure gold. Two women with everything to lose and the guts to do whatever it takes to win. Torre has crafted a story that’s equal parts entertaining and disturbing and I loved every minute of it.
If you’re in the mood for a thriller with a healthy dose of glamour, mind games and a few gasp-worthy twists, then this book is an absolute must-read. Plus, it’s perfect for anyone who’s ever wondered just how far someone might go to get what they want. Spoiler: it’s far.
