November Book Haul | 5 New Books to Add to My TBR

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of picking up new books to add to your TBR (to be read) list. Especially when the weather starts to cool down and cozy reading time is in full swing. This month, I’ve added five exciting titles to my November book haul. My picks promise to deliver suspense, thrills and heart-pounding twists. From mysteries and psychological thrillers to gripping emotional reads, these books are sure to keep me hooked all month long. Without further ado, here are the new books I picked up for my November book haul and added to my ever-growing TBR list!

My Murder by Katie Williams

One of the most unique picks in my November book haul is My Murder by Katie Williams. This intriguing novel follows Lou, who a government program resurrects after her murder as part of an experimental initiative. While Lou navigates her second chance at life, the details of her own death haunt her. The fact that her murderer remains at large also torments her. Determined to uncover the truth about her murder, Lou launches her own investigation and uncovers layers of mystery and conspiracy.

My Murder blends elements of science fiction with psychological suspense, offering a fresh and thought-provoking take on the murder mystery genre. With themes of identity, life after death and the quest for justice, I’m excited to see how Katie Williams weaves these threads together. The concept alone has me hooked and I can’t wait to dive into this mind-bending story. I’m excited and ready for all the twists it promises to deliver.

The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda

Megan Miranda has mastered the small-town thriller, and The Last House Guest is another must-read on my list. This novel unfolds in the idyllic coastal town of Littleport, Maine. Avery Greer has built her life here working for the wealthy Loman family. When her best friend, Sadie Loman, turns up dead at the end of a summer party, the town reels from the shock. Authorities rule the death a suicide, but Avery refuses to believe it. As she digs into Sadie’s life and the town’s secrets, she unravels a web of lies and deceit. It’s sure to keep me guessing until the end.

I’m always drawn to Megan Miranda’s ability to create an atmospheric setting full of tension, where the backdrop itself feels like a character in the story. The Last House Guest promises a mix of suspense, unreliable characters and plenty of twists as Avery uncovers dark truths about the people around her. With secrets, betrayal and an underlying sense of dread, this book is the perfect addition to my November TBR.

The Five Year Lie by Sarina Bowen

Sarina Bowen’s The Five Year Lie is a suspenseful and emotional read that explores the impact of long-buried secrets. The story follows the protagonist, who has spent the last five years building a new life after a devastating tragedy. She’s created a stable life for herself, but everything is thrown into chaos when someone from her past reappears, threatening to unravel the lies she’s told and the life she’s built. As old wounds resurface and the truth becomes impossible to ignore, she must confront the choices she made five years ago and the impact they’ve had on her present.

I love stories that delve into the emotional weight of past mistakes and the consequences they have on our lives. The Five Year Lie promises to deliver just that. With its blend of romance, suspense and emotional depth, this book is sure to be a gripping and heartfelt read. Sarina Bowen’s storytelling is always full of nuanced characters and relatable emotions. I’m excited to see how she handles this intense and twisty plot.

All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers

Ashley Flowers, creator and host of the popular Crime Junkie podcast, makes her debut with All Good People Here. With Flowers’ deep knowledge of true crime, I expect a gripping psychological thriller. The story follows Margot Davies, a journalist who returns to her small hometown to care for her uncle. As soon as she arrives, memories of the unsolved murder of her childhood best friend, January Jacobs, resurface. It’s a case that shook the town years ago. When another child goes missing in a similar manner, Margot becomes convinced the two cases are connected. She sets out to uncover the truth, facing resistance from the town’s authorities and residents.

What I love about this premise is the small-town setting, layered with secrets, lies and long-buried truths. As a fan of true crime and suspense, I’m excited to see how Ashley Flowers’ real-world expertise influences her storytelling. All Good People Here promises to be a gripping, fast-paced mystery filled with unexpected twists and a protagonist determined to uncover the truth no matter the cost. It’s definitely one of the books I’m most excited to dig into this month! I’m a huge fan of Ashley’s Crime Junkie podcast and I know this book is going to be fantastic!

You Shouldn’t Have Come Here by Jeneva Rose

Jeneva Rose is no stranger to crafting psychological thrillers that leave you questioning every character’s motives . You Shouldn’t Have Come Here is no exception. The story follows Grace Evans, a successful city woman who books a remote Airbnb in the middle of nowhere to escape her stressful life. At first, everything seems idyllic—the host, Calvin Wells, is charming, the landscape is peaceful and Grace finally feels like she can relax. But soon, things start to feel off. As the days go by, Grace begins to suspect that Calvin isn’t who he seems and her dream getaway turns into a nightmare she can’t escape from.

This book seems to play on the classic tropes of isolation, suspense and the danger of trusting strangers. The tension between Grace and Calvin is palpable and I’m looking forward to watching how their relationship develops—and then unravels. You Shouldn’t Have Come Here is the kind of psychological thriller that will keep you turning pages late into the night, and I’m eager to see how Jeneva Rose pulls off the dark twists and shocking reveals that I know are coming.

That wraps up my November book haul! With a mix of psychological thrillers, small-town mysteries and emotionally charged stories, these five books are sure to keep me on the edge of my seat. If you’ve read any of these titles or have any recommendations for my next haul, let me know! Happy reading!
